I’m trying to get a FAQ on my website And really want to use Ultimate Faq. I’ve already made some Q and A’s and different categories. But when I place the shortcode [ultimate-faq] on my website it just showed as plain text([ultimate-faq]) and not the FAQ I was hoping for. We’re using a own theme and I think that’s the reason it doesn’t work. we don’t have a /wp-content/plugins file (or do we need it). I think I need to place a code in the functions.php with the link to the shortcode and the function. But what is the code that I need to place in the functions.php? or is there an other way to get this FAQ working?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Mark,

The shortcode is actually [ultimate-faqs]. You need that “s” on the end.

    Thank you for you’re response.

My bad I wrote the message to quick. I copied the code from the ultimate-faq plugin. So it is correctly on my website([ultimate-faqs]). But it still doesn’t work. I think I need to place a code somewhere so that wordpress knows what to do with the shortcode. Can you tell me what and where?

    Thank you in advance

    Hi Mark,

There’s nothing else you need to do. You just create at least one FAQ. Then you put the [ultimate-faqs] shortcode on a page. That’s it.

If it still doesn’t work, and you think it’s because of your theme, then try switching to a default WordPress theme. Does it show then?
