I am running the latest version of WordPress 5.2.2 and WP User Manager. I am trying to work with the shortcodes. However, the shortcode editor does not display in the Page or Posts visual editor as described in the documentation.

“WP User Manager comes with a handy shortcodes editor. The editor is embedded into your WordPress pages and posts visual editor.

To open the shortcodes editor, click the WPUM logo icon. Once clicked, a menu will appear with a list of all the available shortcodes.”

No WPUM logo shows up in the editors. I don’t see any way to configure to have the editor display so I assume there is no configuration that I have not done correctly.

    Hi @dblosser

Apologies for the confusion, the documentation regarding the shortcodes editor was written when the new WordPress editor (Gutenberg) did not exist.

If your site is using gutengerg, there’s no shortcodes editor available for it, you’ll have to enter the shortcodes manually and each one of them and their parameters are described into the documentation here https://docs.wpusermanager.com/category/44-shortcodes

If you’re using the Classic Editor plugin, then the shortcodes editor should be visible. If it’s not, let me know.

I was thinking that may be the answer. Thanks for the very quick response.

Kudos for the very well written add-in.

I haven’t used the Classic Editor add-in. I will try it to follow up. But I suspect the editor will work as advertised.

    thanks again
