Shortcode for post-excerpt…

    I was sending a new post notification to the list of subscribers, selecting the post (great feature!) and put the shortcode for a post excerpt into the textfield as newsletter content. Which led to the excerpt being sent as well as the complete postcontent beneath it. I wonder how to send only the excerpt, because if I do not select the post how would the newsletter know of which post to take the excerpt?

    Hi, if you add [POST-EXCERPT] inside newsletter content, it should be replaced by post excerpt only. If the post excerpt is empty, the first part of post content will be used instead.
    Are you using a newsletter theme? Maybe in that theme there is also the [POST-CONTENT] placeholder that prints the newsletter content.

    Ah, yes, I did not get that, that the same shortcodes could also be in the template… There is [CONTENT] and beneath that [POST-CONTENT] so it came out both… Thanks 🙂
