Shortcode for Youtube Video

    I cant find a documentation for the JW Player Shortcodes. How do I embed a Youtube Video with a shortcode without using Media manager?

    I want to render the Youtube video based on a custom field (Youtube ID) in my themes single.php through echo do_shortcode('[Shortcode_with_YT_ID_from_custom_field]');

    What is the right Shortcode for Youtube Video in JW Player 6 Plugin?

    Maybe there is also a php snipped I can use direct, without using do_shortcode function for this?

    The JW Player uses its own shortcode parser. This is because of legacy reasons, but also because support for shortcodes in the_excerpt is limited. You can play with shortcode settings in the settings menu of the plugin. You can also toggle the setting in jwplayermodule.php (see lines 33-45). This allows you to enable the regular shortcode, but please note that we do not officially support this option (that’s why it’s no official setting).

    Small problem 🙂

    if you use jw player with youtube… you can’t get views on the YouTube Video 🙂

    This is because we use their API, and views through the API don’t count against the original page on YouTube.
