Shortcode [image: Inline image 1] appearing in post content
-
I have installed Postie 1.6.9 on WP4.1 and everything is working correctly… except one thing.
When an image is attached the image places properly, but at teh end of the accompanying text there is always a shortcode appearing as plaintext ‘[image: Inline image 1]’
How to I stop this from happening?
-
Postie does not add this to your post. The only way to find out what is adding it is to turn off all plugins excepts Postie and test. If the test still shows up then I would suspect the theme. If not add one plugin back and re-test. Repeat until the text shows up again and that is who is adding the text.
Well, all plugins are disabled (save Postie), and I set the theme as twentyfifteen.
Still happening.
Please send a sample email to [email protected] and I will take a look.
Sent a simple email with image attachment. Thanks
This is what I see with twentyfifteen and only Postie activated.
http://screencast.com/t/CGMqQRSIOWAI just did another test and ran the tool with debug options.
In the log, @ line 394 – 464, there are numerous mentions of the [image: Inline image 1]. It looks like Postie considers this part of the original mail content.
(I don’t want to post the original log as it is littered with my personal email address)
Click Run Postie (Debug) with this same email waiting and send the output to [email protected] and I’ll see if I can figure something out.
In looking at the raw email this is what I see:
--001a113ec2708a05c9050bafbf08 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8 lorem ipsum! [image: Inline image 1] --001a113ec2708a05c9050bafbf08Try switching the Preferred Text Type to html.
Also what mail client are you using?
I am using gmail/google apps to send from, and i know the others that will be using the site will be as well.
Looks like the preferred text change was the trick.
Thanks for the help
I was able to replicate your results by using the plain Preferred Text Type.
