  • Hey there chatzopoulo,

    Hope you’re well today!

Shortcodes work in both free and pro versions of the plugin. Are you having issues with the shortcodes?

    Best regards,
    Bojan

    Thanks a lot!

I guess a conflict with the other Plugins that I also isntalled (BuddyPress, Polylang, Akismet and JetPack).
    I will re-install.

    Thanks again.

    Hey there chatzopoulo,

Before re-installing everything you should check for conflicts by deactivating plugins and testing if shortcodes are working on one of the default WP themes if you’re not using CoursePress theme.

You can follow the the instructions on this flowchart

    Dear Bojan,

1st of all thank you very much.
Unfortunately I had already re-installed in the meantime (your message didn’t reach me in time) minimal (theme: 2015, plugin: Akismet) and the short codes didn’t work as well. Only this time student/instructor roles didn’t show up too.

What am I supposed to look for in .htaccess and wp-config.php?
Where do I find thesoe files?

    Thanks again.

    Hey again chatzopoulo,

I’ve tested this on both old and recently released new version of the plugin and I didn’t have any issues as you can see on this screenshot http://screencast.com/t/leIaKyyB.

I’ve used the following shortcode there:

    [course show="title,summary,cost,button" course_id="61"]

Could you link the page where you use shortcodes and add more information on the shortcode that you’re trying to use?

Additionally please update to latest version of the plugin(1.2.5.2).

Looking forward for your response 🙂

    Cheers,
    Bojan

    Dear Bojan,

I tried to update coursepress and failed twice on two different installations.
I then deactivated the pi and tried to update. It failed again.
It looks like it doesn’t ever downlaod the update. It gets stuck on this step of the update:

    Update Plugin
    Downloading update from https://downloads.wp.xz.cn/plugin/coursepress.zip…

    Probably some silly glitch.

    greetings and thnks.

by the way, I found .htaccess and it is an empty file.
what could be wrong with wp-config.php?
    I found that too.

    Dear Bojan,

I finally made the updates. Even some of the shortcodes work now. So I guess I will just have to learn how to use them.

My only problem now (but I don’t really know if it is a problem) is that I don’t see the user types “student”, “lecturer” that existed in the past. But like I said maybe this is not a problem at all.

    thanx again!

I now notice that there are some other problems as well:

      cannot add new pages
      dashboard doesn’t show up
      cannot change permalinks anymore

I don’t really expect a reply. I can understand you must be very busy. I think I’ll just try a fresh installation until it works.

    thanx again.

    Hey again chatzopoulo,

Sorry for not responding earlier, all these issues with pages and permalinks are looking to be related to your installation rather then the plugin.

It’s a good idea to try setting that up on fresh installation.

Please let me know if you run into any issues 🙂

    Best regards,
    Bojan
