Shortcodes do not seem to work

Hey Guys,

I’m very new to using NextGen and I thought I’d try it out, but I’m having problems learning to use it. I uploaded a few images, tried to learn the gallery settings, and the first time, everything seemed to be ok. I saw my images displayed as thumbnails, then as a slideshow, and then as a slideshow with clickable thumbnails below it.

The problem started when I was trying to change the shortcode to display the different display results. The shortcode would not work, and it would not update when I modified it.

I only have one other active plugin on the site, askimet. I am using the theme, “Weaver”, and I am on WordPress version 3.6

I tried uninstalling and then reinstalling the plugin, but it behaved the exact same way.

The funny thing is, the first time I displayed the gallery, it looked and behaved fine, but then after that when I was playing with the shortcode to try to get it to display the various styles, it would only display it in slideshow format with the thumbnails underneath, no matter what I changed the shortcode to.

I am totally new to nextGen, but I am reading here that some people are having problems with a new version, so maybe this was not a good time to download this. Maybe I will uninstall it until the new version issues are resolved.
