Shortcodes in excerpts

    Thanks for a great plugin!

    I would like to use a shortcode in the excerpt of each item.

    Following this thread, I was able to identify the wp_trim_words function in class-get-portfolio.php: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/do-not-strip-html-tags/

    Nevertheless, I’m not able enable shortcodes, even though I’m using the do_shortcodes function.

    Where are you using the do_shortcode function? Can you share a part of your code?

    Hi nK,

    Thank you very much for taking the time – I really appreciate your help!

    I have added the do_shortcode to my functions.php, and I see that some shortcodes are (sort of) working. Though I have been trying to use this https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/read-more/ (and other plug-ins with similar collapsibse/expand-functions) in the excerpts using shortcodes, but without success.

    I would appreciate it if you would let me know, should this plugin work for you. Meanwhile, I’ll also take the liberty to start a new thread asking how I could add a collapsible/expand-functionality without the use of a plug-in.

    Hey.

    Unfortunately, it will not work with our excerpt feature. You will need to add code customizations to the template, as I already answered in this topic https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/do-not-strip-html-tags/

    We don’t provide such customizations, you will need to make it by yourself or with 3rd-party help.
