Shortcodes not working

    Shortcodes are not working, and when I try to update the plugin nothing is working, and the plugin will not activate. This has been working fine for almost a year up until last week. When I update the plugin, it is telling me that I am getting an error on line 20 on the shortcodes.php file. (plugin is not currently updated so I can keep the events active)
    Any suggestions would be helpful, I am having a hard time finding a fix.

    Hi,
    line 20 contains a direct callback function. I think that you use an old version of PHP.
    Upgrading is always a good practice, but retro-compatibility is important to. We’ll update the syntax to make it work on old PHP servers.

    It has been patched in version 4.5.2.
