Is it possible for a plugin to block the use of shortcodes from other plugins? I have a plugin I’m using for a coming soon page and I want to display one of my photo galleries I have with a Gallery shortcode but it just displays the text instead of the gallery. I’ve tried inserting it in visual, text, and use the toolbar option.

    any thoughts?

The gallery short-code creator was supposed to work with page/post default editor. The same result you can achieve with short-code generator and insert wherever you want.

That’s what I thought… So is it possible for a plugin author to block other plugin’s shortcodes?

    Dear IndyITguy,

In most of the cases WordPress does not allow displaying a shortcode within a shortcode, which might be the case for you.

So the coming soon plugin is possibly using a shortcode to create the landing page? I don’t have to generate a shortcode for the coming soon plugin to take over. I’ve tried the easy pie coming soon plugin and the Coming Soon and Maintenance mode by wpdevart plugins and neither will display the gallery…

I figured out a work around by using the do_shortcode function
