Shortcodes or function for active threads, latest threads and latest posts

Hi,

I know that there are widgets for these functionalities but I never use widgets in my themes. But i’d like to see the ability to get this kind of information trough an shortcode or maybe an function which I can call in my functions.php so I can format it myself.

I would think that this could be an really great asset to your plugin, since you already have the functionality in your widgets.

Btw, is your plugin extensible with own stuff?

The names of the widgets are:
– AsgarosForumRecentPosts_Widget
– AsgarosForumRecentTopics_Widget

A lot of hooks and filters for modifications and extensions are available. Which kind of stuff do you want to add?

Yeah I know you can capture an widget, but the problem is I dont want to use predefined widgets.. Although I think it could work somehow.

Well I’d like to extend the part where the users avatar and username are shown in an post. I want to put the rank(usergroup) and to make the username / avatar clickable to their public profile.

You can add data under the avatar/username with the asgarosforum_after_post_author hook. You can find an example here:

You can also filter the username with the following filter:
asgarosforum_filter_post_username

This one should allow you to add a-tags around it which leads to the corresponding profile page.
