Hello,
Yes, you can remove it and delete it forever. There will be no more need for Ultimate Tinymce.
In Ultimate Tinymce… under the “Database” tab… there should be a setting to “Completely Uninstall Plugin”… which would include deleting all the associated database tables. Once that is done; you can delete the plugin.
The delete button should be right by the activate/deactivate buttons (but only available when the plugin is deactivated).
Sorry to be dense, but I must be looking in the wrong place to start.
When I find the Ult. TinyMCE in my plug-in list, I see:
Settings | Support Forum | Deactivate | Edit
I don’t see an option for Database.
Guessing that I’m not even starting out right?
oh, i just saw that there’s also, in the black column at the far left, an option called TinyMCE . When I click on that, though, I don’t see an option called Databases, either. I DO see an option called “Uninstall Plugin” which seems like the right way to go, but now that you’ve told me that I should be looking for a tab saying Database, I want to hold off for further instructions from you.

The “Delete” option will only be visible when the plugin is deactivated.

The menu name should be “Ultimate Tinymce”.
Here is what you should do:
1) Make sure Ultimate Tinymce is activated.
2) Click the “Settings” link under the plugin name.
3) Click the “Uninstall Plugin” tab (my mistake above; apologies).
4) Make sure the box is checked to confirm; and click the button to uninstall.
This will delete the plugin option tables, and return you to the plugins list. From here you can “Delete” the plugin files.
Yikes! That delete worked alright…now I have no box that says “Font Family” or “Font Size” in either the regular Visual mode OR in the “Visual Editor” of “Page Builder”. I guess that I must have gotten those drop downs from TinyMCE, but I assumed such common and important options were now being brought to me by WP-Edit instead. I really need those! I still have trouble understanding how those could not come standard in WP 4.1…who doesn’t set the fonts and sizes in places?
How do I get those critical dropdowns back? Hopefully not by having to reload a plug-in you’re no longer recommending.
See screen print of what I’m talking about at:

Thanks! Hoping i won’t be sorry that I deleted that. Stuck for being able to work on the site til this is fixed!

Did you go to the WP Edit settings page.. and re-configure your button row arrangements?
You’ll want to drag the buttons from the “Button Container” to an active row.
That was definitely it. I must have done that back when I set up WP-Edit? Not sure I understand why deleting TinyMCE undid it, but the important thing is that it’s back (with some other additions I might use as well).
Tried to thank you yesterday but, for some reason this week, ww.wp.xz.cn keeps showing as being down even though my internet connection is fine. So it crashed when I hit post.
I try again periodically and suddenly it’ll work again. Odd.
Anyway, thanks!!!
