I have the same problem. I would like to see the subnavigation of the active parent in the sidebar. I can do that with “wp_list_pages“, but in that case you have to build up the menu hierarchy twice (in pages and menus). I guess that it should be possible with “wp_nav_menu“.
Any clues?

@admirenl yes it can be done does your theme support custom menus when you go in menus page from Appearance what do see in lefthand top box.
