@rhellewellgmailcom hmmm, I can’t seem to duplicate this on my test install. The code tag works when initially entered and also when I try to edit the comment.
Do you have any other plugins that might strip out the HTML tags in a comment?
Not a problem entering the codeor pretag when entering a new comment. And the saved comment does show that text as ‘coded’ or ‘pre’d’.
When you edit an existing comment, the code tag itself is not on the editing screen, although you can see the ‘effects’ of the code tag.
Try disabling the comment quick tags and see if that fixes it.
Well, I disabled that other plugin, and the tags are shown when you edit the comment.
Then I re-enabled that other plugin, and the tags are still there when I edit the comment. Although the buttons above (quicktags) are gone when you edit the comment (with the other plugin enabled).
So, looks like your plugin is OK with the quicktag-adding plugin being enabled; you can still see the tags when you edit the comment.
But the quicktag buttons only appear when you initially enter a new comment, and not when you edit the comment.
What I’d really like is buttons like those that appear here….and the editing ability of your plugin.
