    Hello there,

I’ve got several questions for the following site:

    http://torreviejatranslation.com/

    1. I would like to get rid of all the widgets in the side bar. My Dashboard is empty, however, I still get those four. Any suggestions?

    2. Is there any way to force WordPress to open up on a certain page? The problem I see is that it always opens with a Welcome post I put, but I would like to do it on a Home page I will create.

    3. Is there any standard way to make a site multi-language? I’d like to do exactly the same I have now but in another language, without going out of this site of course.

    Thanks.

    1. Many themes have a default set of widgets that they show unless you insert your own. You can usually insert a blank Text widget to override them. However, this will not recover the space on the screen. If your theme does not offer a full-width page template, you will need to modify the code to regain the space.
    2. You do this in WP with a Static Front Page. Here is a video tutorial that may help.
    3. There are several plugins that will do this. I have used WPML. You can find others by searching the WP Plugin Directory for ‘multilingual’ or ‘translate’.
