Hello @broom80
As far as I understand, this is the correct behaviour of the sidebar. The sidebar on mobile can sit above or below the main content of the page and cannot be made to “float” by default.
To change the mobile sidebar position, you will need to go into the Customiser -> Sidebar and choose the appropriate option – https://ibb.co/4Zj0ncb
Sadly, the sidebar cannot be made “sticky” at the top, as the system does not permit that. Even if I was to give you some CSS, other things can break in the process.
What I can actually recommend is to set the sidebar to be on top. Or as an alternative, you may want to check out our “Off Canvas Filter” from Blocksy Pro – https://creativethemes.com/blocksy/docs/woocommerce/off-canvas-filter/ – as it should make for a more seamless experience. And the feature is set to receive some major updates in an upcoming release of Blocksy. π
Hope this clears everything up!
Thanks.
Hi Eduard,
Thank you for your quick response. Really appreciate it.
When you say ‘I recommend is to set the sidebar to be on top‘ I cant see that option in the customizer. Can you point me in the right direction?
Look forward to hearing from you.
Regards,
Mark
Hi @broom80
The option should be at the bottom of the Customiser -> Sidebar pane. See this image – https://ibb.co/4Zj0ncb
Thanks.
Oh I understand thanks.
But this cant be used for the Woocommerce Filters can it? Isnt it only just the blog posts?
Sorry for all the questions.
Regards,
Mark
Hi @broom80
Actually, no. It can be used for any kind of sidebar inside of Blocksy, as the “WooCommerce Filters” widget pane is still a sidebar. The option affects all sidebars in Blocksy.
What it can’t be used for is the “off canvas filters” feature from Blocksy Pro. That sits at the top of the screen at all times.
No need to be sorry for anything. π
Thanks.
Hi Eduard,
I have managed to locate the filter at the bottom of the page on the mobile view, please see screenshot below:
https://theurbanlightcompany.com/test-page/
However the settings are set to show it at the top of the screen above the shop.
Is there a bug issue with this? And is there a work around?
Look forward to hearing from you.
Regards,
Mark
Hi @broom80
It looks like the filter everything plugin is creating some sort of cache. Notice the top right corner of this image – https://ibb.co/3hnj48V
Please try to look around the plugin for options to clear this cache. This should do the trick for you.
Thanks.
Good Morning Eduard,
You are a life saver mate.
Turns out one of the settings ‘Try to move sidebar to top on mobile devices’ was ticked which had been blocking it from moving up. So hope this helps anyone else as well.
Thanks again for all your help and quick replies, has made the whole experience very seamless.
Have a great weekend.
Many Thanks, Mark
With pleasure, @broom80 π
