Sidebar for Category

I need this as well

I had this problem like I said above. I got frustrated and uninstalled it and reinstalled it a few times because I kept looking for an alternative.

I finally got it working. I just made sure I ‘Select the box for substitution’. For my theme it was Archive Widget Area. And when you save that and create the sidebar, you configure the widget and make sure you do the ‘Where?’ option to tell it exactly where, and you want it under category archive and find the specific archive.
