Hi Robert!
Sounds strange with the inconsistent images – do you have any live website where I can view it? I can’t give any good answers yet as I don’t fully understand what is going on.
1) There should be no images appearing in the sidebar except for the profile image there, unless you’ve added some widget which displays it somehow.
2) Not sure here where they are supposed to appear. Featured images are not displayed anywhere unless you insert them on the pages.
3) Hm, the sidebar always has a single profile image. Do you want to change that image depending on which page you are on? Or are we talking of images below that image, as widgets?

Hi Alexander,
Thank you for your reply. Your answers have helped me resolve the first of my questions. There is a widget called Primary and this contains the image that appears in each of the sidebars (above the navigation menu). I now see that this works as designed.
To clarify 2, the Featured Image in the description of a page’s Document attributes, does not appear on the page unless it is inserted into the page design.
On 3, I would like to display a unique image on each page. Preferably this image is at the top of the sidebar, instead of the current Primary image.
The website is hughesconsult.co.uk
Once agine, thank you for your reply.
Regards,
Robert
To create a sidebar for each page, go to:
Customize > Theme Extensions > Custom Sidebars > Add new sidebar (Requires Alx Extensions plugin to be installed and active)
There you can create a widget sidebar for each page you want.
Then save, and go to edit the page(s) you want to change sidebar for. Scroll down to the bottom and select your sidebar below the large text field in the admin panel where it says “Primary Sidebar:”. (Requires the Meta Box plugin to show up) Save and you should now be able to add another image to this widget-sidebar. Repeat this step for all pages you want another image on.
As for the featured image, you need to insert it on the page itself where you want it to show up.

Thank you for that explanation Alexander. Quite straight forward when you know how.

Robert
Glad you got it to work! 🙂
