signs don't wrap

(Also tried WordPress 3.9.1 in staging area – no difference)
Recent Posts Widget has overrun it’s column boundaries instead of wrapping as it should, because my client created a Facebook post with “+” signs. I will try to get client to remove them (this time), but this is not expected/desirable behavior for widget. Is there a way for me to prevent this probem in the future?
