Simple Products changing to Variable

    We’ve created a store with simple, virtual, downloadable products. We are setting these products up and after they are published, they are somehow reverting to variable products and being set to out of stock. However, if a product is unpublished, then the product stays how it’s set and doesn’t revert.

    Hello @jesse11,

    That’s very unusual, I also did some research and didn’t find any similar cases whatsoever.

    I believe the best option here is to perform a full conflict test, to do so:

    • Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront
    • Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
    • Repeat the action that is causing the problem

    If you’re not seeing the same problem after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated. To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict.     Got it. Yes, I’m familiar with this process. One note, we are on Cloudways and this is relatively new for us. Have you had any problems with them and their caching plugin Breeze?

    I haven’t used their hosting service or caching solution so I can’t tell. 🙂

    You can check this guide for caching soultions recommended by the WooCommerce team.

    Also to note, if you’re not comfortable doing all of the mentioned steps on the live version of your site, you can create a staging environment using WP-STAGING.
