simplifying product bundle configuration

I’m trying to set up a product page where customers can buy a sheet set (fitted sheet, flat sheet, pillowcases). I’m using the Product Bundles extension but also have the Composite Products extension which might work.

Here’s the issue: right now customers have to choose size and color three separate times for each of the three components of the bundle. The components are all variable products with different colors and sizes. What I want is to make it really simple and quick: customer chooses color and size once and it applies to all three components (for example, see https://www.coyuchi.com/organic-linen-sheets.html.

But as I work with these extensions it really seems like they’re not capable of this. Am I missing something? Is there another solution?
