Hi, I am really liking the plugin but I have a problem. I have spent 3 days trying to stop simultaneous logins. Doesn’t seem to work. I can log in from 4 different devices at the same time and all show the protected content.

I have created a paid plan. Activated the protection on the page using the “restrict content” box at the top right. Selected the level that can see it. I am not using a short code on the page, just the option at the top right of the page.

The “prevent simultaneous log ins” button in general settings in “on” (blue).

Everything else seems to be working ok. If someone types in the page url directly the restricted content blocker works ok.

Could it be because I’ve said when someone logs in take them directly to the protected page? I am really stressed about this. I know it is 95% great. I just need to solve this. Am confused as the “prevent simultaneous logins” setting doesn’t seem to make any difference.

    Thanks of your help.

    Hello,

As I understood your concern you have enabled “Auto Lock Shared Account” option from the ARMember -> General Settings page and you are referring to that member can login multiple devices. If so then, yes member can login with multiple devices but logged in from the old devices will be logged out so if you refresh the page to the old device then you come to know that member is logged out.

Kindly check accordingly and let me know if there is anything else.

    Thanks

Hi, thanks for your quick reply.

The page I want to protect has a live video. So when people go to it they won’t be moving from one page to another. They will stay on the one page.

I need it to be that User A logs in and when User B tries to log in with the same credentials he is blocked at that point. He too will stay on the one page with the live video. Or referred to a page that says “simultaneous logins are not permitted”.

Is it possible to block a second login with the same credentials as soon as User B tries to log in?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

I understood your request that you don’t want to allow the second user to use the same credentials which is used with the first user, as per our previous reply, when the second user logs in to the website, the first user will get logout from the website, but unfortunately, currently, blocking the same credentials for the second use that are already in use by the first user will not be possible.

However, I am passing your good suggestion to ARMember core developers and if they find this useful, then this functionality might get added in ARMember future releases.

    Thanks

Thanks for the reply. A lot of similar plugins work like this in that they need the two members to be moving about the site before they get blocked. As the page i want to protect is a live video, they won’t be doing that. Once they login they will stay there.

I found an “old” plugin (hasn’t been updated for a couple of years) but does exactly what I want it to. As soon as a second user tries to use the same credentials they get a message “a user is already logged in with these credentials”. Unless the first person logs out, they can’t log in. Genius.

I thin it would have worked with AR Member, but sadly by the time i had found it I had moved on to another plugin ( and several attempts to achieve the login blocking i wanted).

Thanks for the help. I may come back this way again some day.

    Hello,

Glad to know that I could help you.

Regarding “does not allow to login until the other session is ongoing”, I understood your concern and I have already passed this as suggestion to ARMember core developer team and if they find this useful then this may added according you have suggested.

    Thanks
