Hello @boosterbast
The “Store customer details at Mollie” checkbox enables Mollie’s Single Click Payments feature. When enabled, Mollie stores the customer’s name and email on their platform. This allows returning customers to pay faster and is required if WooCommerce Subscriptions is used, since renewals rely on stored customer data.
In short:
- Stores name + email at Mollie
- Enables faster repeat checkout
- Mandatory for subscriptions
Best regards,
Femi.

Hello @boosterbast,
Yes, customer details are still stored at Mollie even without WooCommerce Subscriptions when the setting is enabled by default.
To disable customer data storage, uncheck “Store customer details at Mollie” in WooCommerce > Settings > Payments > Mollie > Advanced Settings.

Femi.

Hi Femi,
Thanks for the reply. It is still not clear, as it is nowhere really documented. Where is the data stored? Where can I view that data? what is the purpose.

Hello @boosterbast
“Where is the data stored?”
The “Store customer details at Mollie” setting saves a customer’s name and email at Mollie (through their API), while their Mollie customer ID is stored in your WordPress database as user metadata.
“Where can I view that data?”
You can view this information under Customers in the Mollie Dashboard.
“what is the purpose?”
This setting makes Single Click Payments possible, which speeds up checkout and is also required for WooCommerce Subscriptions. Because it helps improve conversion rates and is essential for subscriptions, it’s enabled by default.
Best regards,
Femi.
