How can I control page width for the dynamically created Single Event Listing?

I’m using Elementor Pro in combination with WP Event Manager. All is well except for the Single Event Listing.

To see a Single Event Listing on my website, I choose an event from my Events Listings “box layout.” It works great!

But the Event Banner Image on the new page (Single Event Listing) is not retaining its standard 735 X 500 px size. Everything is a little squeezed—-like the page width needs to be changed.

The only reason I know the Event Banner Image is supposed to be 735 X 500 is that I experimented by creating a test “page” and a test “post.” Both look great—-but, of course, are not “connected” to the Events Listings “box layout.”

I find it odd that, under “Events” in the backend, I am unable to choose a page width for Events. I have no such problem with normal “pages” and “posts.”

What am I missing? How can I control page width for the Single Event Listing—-which is dynamically generated and does not appear connected with any page, post, or template?

I hope I don’t have to muck around with templates.php.

Thanks in advance for helping this newbie!

  • Hi @holifffame

The width of the banner is completely decided by what theme you are using for your website. The Size would keep differing in accordance with the theme settings.

Please refer to the recommended size of the banner of the particular theme that you are using, and set size accordingly.

Also, you can decide on customizing your theme by, Wp Admin >> appearance >>customize.

    I hope this helps.

    Hi @priyagoenka,

Thank you for your response! BTW: I’m using the “Hello Theme” from Elementor.

I should NOT have said “banner size.” I meant to say “content width area.”

WP Event Manager Plugin Shortcodes display content correctly on static pages.

The problem is dynamic pages. When the user chooses a Single Event from the Event Calendar/List that the “content area” on those pages are “squished.”

Where would I “customize” dynamic pages generated by the WP Event Manager plugin?

    Thanks again for your time.

    Regards,

    Jonathan

    Hi Jonathan,

In order to customize the single event listing page, you need to override the single event listing template file and you can find it from here:
    https://github.com/wpeventmanager/wp-event-manager/blob/master/templates/content-single-event_listing.php

If you do not know how to override the template file at the theme side then please have a look at the following documentation and you will get an idea.

    https://wp-eventmanager.com/knowledge-base/template-files-override/

The elementor pro also allows you to customize it.
