Single Thumbnail Gallery Not Presenting Correctly

The Single Thumbnail Gallery is, by its read, a nifty concept – looks like a stack when presented on a page, right? Well, currently, those thumbnail controls aren’t working, and the first (top) image in the stack is presented on the page, full-size. No adjustment to “full width” / “float left” / “float right” does anything either. Forced cropping doesn’t do anything. The top image is presented full-size, that’s it.
The gallery functions correctly, with the lightbox appearing and rolling through the quantity of full-size images in the stack, but nothing I’ve tried will get it to deploy properly.
Strangely, when I’m in draft mode, creating a page, the draft version shows up properly, but if you preview or publish the page, it goes back to the incorrect variant.
