Site can’t complete a loopback request…

    Hi,

    I checked the support search and none of the loopback results have the same problem so I’m sorry to bother you on this.

    I just recently see “Your site could not complete a loopback request” in my WP Site Health” report screen.

    If I disable Shield Security the warning in Site Health disappears.

    Also, after I disabled Shield Security while tracking down what was causing the issue and I turned it back on I got a second and simultaneous warning “The scheduled event, icwp-wpsf-ptg_build_snapshots, is late to run” but when I disabled Shield Security and then turned it back on that was gone but the original thing about the loopback request was still there.

    I checked with my host and they said there should not be any problems related to loopback request and that they checked server logs but didn’t find any problems that could cause this issue and they advised the turning off of plugins to troubleshoot and that’s what I did.

    Everything is updated.

    Also, I saw in one of the loopback request support posts a thing about Shield not being able to run scans, but scans run fine.

    Any ideas?

    When the loopback requests fail, could you check the Audit Trail and see if there are any messages in there about requests that are blocked?

    Thanks and sorry for the delay in responding.

    All I see in the Audit Trail is mainly things about fake web crawlers and a few that start with “404 detected at “/wp-content/themes….” and one that starts with “There was an attempt to send an email using the “wp_mail” function.” and I checked and that email did make it to where it was sent and lastly, ones saying I activated the plugins when I was troubleshooting but nothing about blocked as far as I can tell.

    It doesn’t go back very far though, the oldest is when I reactivated the plugins. It lists 101 items just going back less than 2 days even though the setting is to purge entries after 14 days.

    Anything else I should look for?

    This should now be resolved with the latest update 10.1.6…
