Have you tried:
– Flushing any caching plugins you might be running, as well as server and/or browser caches. Also, any op cache or content network cache, as well as Cloudflare, clear those caches.
– deactivating ALL (yes all) plugins temporarily to see if this resolves the problem (plugin functions can interfere). If this works, re-activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin(s).
– switching to the unedited default Twenty Fifteen theme for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

Thanks Tara! Yes I have tried all of this, it doesn’t make a difference.
What is really strange is:
– the issue happens more systematically when people try to reach the website using Firefox
– when I make updates on the blog’s pages, the issue seems to go away for an hour or two after I’ve published the updates, then it comes back!
I am using the integrated GoDaddy/WordPress package. Could it be an issue on GoDaddy’s end?
Any other thoughts?
Thanks!
PS: This is the error message people get on Firefox
The connection was reset
The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.
The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer’s network connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
THEN BY CLICKING “TRY AGAIN” THE PAGE SHOWS UP…

Most likely.
Because, this is not a WP core behavior or default behavior.
I had something similar happen to me on a shared hosting plan. They switched my site to a different server and it fixed the issue.
