What are you using to confirm the ping?

Are you sure you are publishing a feed? You don’t seem to have one.

how do you confirm the ping?

and yes i am publishing… just hit publish, right, and it publishes?

He has a feed, but the title is blank, and that is probably the cause of the issue at hand.

Chokersandwitch, you need to have a Blog Title entered in Options/General. If you don’t want it to be displayed on your blog, there are a few CSS hacks that can be applied, but the value must exist in Opitons/General.

It looks like you are using a modified version of the Default Theme. This is from the FAQ for the Default Theme (fka “Kubrick”):

Q: How do I remove the blog name and description in the header? My header image already has all that…
A: The best way of doing this, is to open style.css. Find the first entries you can find for ‘H1‘ and ‘.description‘. Now add ‘display: none;‘ to the values in there. The reason for doing it this way, and not by simply deleting the code in index.php, is that this way around, it will degrade gracefully if an old browser happens to drop by.

Wait until an hour after your post, then check any one of the sites that Ping-o-Matic sends your ping to, search for your feed, and see if they have received a notice of your blog being updated.

    it all worked nicely.
    thanks for your help.

needed to enter blog title in options and
used the advice to remove title via the above instructions.

I have the same problem – it doesn’t ping and it doesn’t send trackbacks. I reported previously, but couldn’t get any solution.

    And the problem still exists…
