• Hi,

New user to WordPress here. A former team member set up the self-hosted version of WordPress website about a year ago: http://seedlinghydroponics.com/
but recently the website has been down for some reason and I can’t even access the admin log-in portal. The team member who set up the website has since moved to a different continent and is unreachable by all means of communication. I looked into the domain host but found it is protected by Contact Privacy…

Any advice on what I should do at this point, who I should contact? Thanks!

First off, check and make sure your server is not down.

I just tried to load the site you linked to and in my experience the issues that you are experiencing are related to errors on the server provided by the hosting provider.

Based on your whois.com search am I correct that you do not know where the site is hosted? If so, unfortunately the only options you have are to contact that old team member and ask where the site is hosted or to start the site over.

Yeah, I don’t know where the site is hosted :/
I checked on websites like this (https://www.isitdownrightnow.com/seedlinghydroponics.com.html) to confirm that the server is not responding.

In that case it unfortunately sounds like your only option is likely going to be to start over since as you mentioned in your original post you were not able to reach that old team member who set the website up for you.

I looked. The site is hosted at Google Cloud from what I can see. Take a look at who was paying the bill to Google Cloud and you’ll probably find what you need to get into the server there at Google.

You need to get on this as the domain name seems to be up for renewal in April (4/09/2021). And that is registered at Google also.

If the pages are lost for whatever reason there is an archive at the Wayback Machine where you can see the site and the assets to help you rebuild.

Also, the original theme was Astra… which is a free theme and I didn’t see anything tricky or difficult from the archive copy.

Let us know what else you need.
