Hi. Here’s an update.
1. I renamed the wp-content folder back to wp-content. I can now get into some form of the CMS, but plug ins are not showing at all, including yours.
I tried renaming the content folder back to the new name (from your tool), and I can’t, it says that file already exists.
2. This is what I get when I try to install a plug in:
Unpacking the package…
Installing the plugin…
Could not create directory. /nfs/c03/h06/mnt/47012/domains/acquazzone.net/html/acq-contenuto/plugins/better-wp-security/
Plugin install failed.
Any ideas?
I have a DB backup from the wordpress db backup tool, and the back up from your tool, and my wp-contnet folder from the site.
Would it be best to reinstall from scratch? WOuld would this entail? (I’m not a dev.)
Thanks for any help here!
Update 2: I keep getting this error message via email:
A host, 71.135.33.39(you can check the host at http://ip-adress.com/ip_tracer/71.135.33.39) has been locked out of the WordPress site at https://acquazzone.net until Friday, April 5th, 2013 at 5:34:08 pm UTC due to too many attempts to open a file that does not exist. You may login to the site to manually release the lock if necessary.

Hi praiano.
You mentioned you rename wp-content folder manually, it’s very risky because there could be some links aren’t updated if you do it manually. Also, receiving too many attempts opening non-exist file could be a indication of broken links.
Not much you can do now, but I suggest you:
– Duplicate the wp-content folder. You should have 2 folders: the original “wp-content” and the one using a new name.
– Reinstall the plugin and all other plugins, hoping they will update their links.
– If you have good database knowledge, you may manually search/update the broken links.
