    Hello Forum Members,

In Site Health I get the following Recommended Improvement:

Your site could not complete a loopback request

Loopback requests are used to run scheduled events, and are also used by the built-in editors for themes and plugins to verify code stability.

The loopback request returned an unexpected http status code, 404, it was not possible to determine if this will prevent features from working as expected.”

I was able to determine the messages stems from my htaccess file in the wp-admin folder where I allow access to my IP address and Deny from all for added security.

Is it okay to leave the restriction to my IP address and ignore the loopback notification or should I remove my IP address restriction from htaccess? Trying to figure out which of the two is the better option.. Thank you.

I’d remove the restriction to your IP address *or* add the address of your site, so it can talk to itself.

Thanks, that worked for me after blocking access in .hataccess for wp-admin. Along with the loopback error, I was also getting “A plugin has prevented updates by disabling wp_version_check()”.

    Ok, no probs.
