Since this afternoon my site is down (500 or 503 error) every few minutes. I’ve contacted my hosting, and they say the problem lies within WooCommerce. This afternoon I also receive an e-mail, indicating the following:

    Hi @bufsan,

I’ve checked the error log and it looks like the issue is related to the WooCommerce Admin plugin. If you’re running core WooCommerce version 4.0.0 or higher you can safely deactivate the WooCommerce Admin plugin since it’s now built-in within the core plugin.

    Thanks.

    Hi Mirko,

Thanks for your reaction. What you mean with ”WooCommerce Admin Plugin”? I just have the regular ”WooCommerce” plugin intstalled

    Hi Sander @bufsan,

    Thanks for the additional details.

WooCommerce Admin is a separate plugin but it’s now included within WooCommerce and I see the error comes from there.

In that case, most likely your theme or another plugin is conflicting with WooCommerce and causing that error. The best way to determine this is to:

    • Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront
    • Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
    • Repeat the action that is causing the problem
    • If you’re not seeing the same problem after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated.

To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict.

You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here.

Please make sure you have a backup in place of your site and database. You could also consider using a service like Jetpack. If something goes wrong, it’s nice to know that you can restore your site to the previous state.

      Thanks!

As a further recommendation if the conflict testing doesn’t resolve the issue, you can download and install the standalone WooCommerce Admin plugin available here:

    Thanks.
