Thanks for reaching out @hardbau. Based on the error you’re facing, it sounds like something is blocking communication with with your site and the Site Kit service, which is used to connect your site with and gather data from the various supported Google services. To investigate this further, and hopefully ensure you can successfully set up the plugin, please share the following:
- Your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred.
- When checking the Site Kit dashboard from a Chrome browser incognito window does the same occur? If so, please share any browser console errors that appear. This can help indicate a browser or caching related block.
- Do you see any warnings or errors when checking your Site Health status (Tools > Site Health > Status), which differs from your Site Health information requested above? Such errors may include REST endpoint references.
It may be worth also share whether the other sites related to other projects where Site Kit was setup successfully, are using the same hosting plan or provider.
Let me know if you have any questions with the above. Thank you.
I can see that you already shared your Site Health information. Many thanks @hardbau. As I don’t see anything obvious from reviewing your details, please do share information from the other 2 items above. Thank you.
Thank you very much for the feeling you are trying to give me.
My Chrome browser incognito window and
Thanks for sharing @hardbau. Given the same occurs in an incognito session, we’ll need to perform some additional checks. To start, please follow the steps below:
- Login to your live site from a Chrome browser incognito window.
- Install and activate the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin.
- Navigate to “Plugins > Health Check & Troubleshooting > Troubleshoot”.
- From the same screen click on the “Available Plugins” tab at the top right and then click on the “Enable” option next to “Site Kit by Google“.
- Attempt to set up Site Kit once more.
If the same occurs, do you have any other sites on the same hosting platform? If so, can you check whether the same occurs on one of these sites when setting up Site Kit. I’m aware you have other sites where this doesn’t occur, but maybe they don’t use the same hosting plan.
This method now works for me, I am very happy because I feel that you have given me this and I am very grateful.
Mr:
Thenk you so much!
Glad to hear it @hardbau, appreciate the update. It sounds like the issue may have been a third party plugin conflict or particular configuration of another plugin, as all other plugins are deactivated while in troubleshooting mode. I did review your site details and I can see you have the PayPlug plugin active, which I do believe can cause a conflict.
If you run into any further errors or if you have any Site Kit related queries, be sure to get in touch. If you have a moment free please also consider leaving a review, in particular as you do have the plugin active on other sites. We’d love to hear your feedback.
