I have activated site kit but I am having problem requesting data from Google. And this is the error message: “Your site may not be ready for Site Kit. Looks like your site is having a technical issue with requesting data from Google services.” I have deactivated potential conflicting plugins, installed Site Kit with an incognito window, and my WordPress version fulfills the minimum requirement. When I tried to sign in with Google, I received this error message: “Oops! There was a problem during set up. Please try again. Unknown Error (code: cURL error 7: Failed to connect to sitekit.withgoogle.com port 443: Connection refused).” Please, how do I solve this problem?

Hi @nakolisa Thanks for reaching out. cURL errors are typically hosting related. If you’d like to share the following we may be able to determine more on this:

    1. Your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred. If using the form please also share your current hosting provider.
    2. At what stage do you encounter this error (ie. When clicking on the “Sign in with Google button” during setup?
    3. Do you see any warnings or errors when checking your Site Health status (Tools > Site Health > Status), which differs from your Site Health information requested above? Such errors may include REST endpoint references.

Once we have the above we can advise further on this.

Thank you Adam for your willingness to help. I checked my adsense account page where I was told that I need to add the code generated for me to my website. Since site kit keeps returning the error message earlier mentioned, I have opted to paste the adsense code manually. How do I paste my adsense code in the HTML of my site, https://Klamidas.com, between the <head> and </head> tags? Please guide me. Thank you.

@nakolisa No problem at all glad to assist. This AdSense help center guide explains where to place your manually placed AdSense snippet.

Please let me know if you have any further questions on Site Kit that I can help with.
