Thanks for reaching out @vangupta. I can see that both your staging site and main site are publicly accessible, so you should be able to set up Site Kit on either. Ideally, Site Kit should only be set up on your main live once live, while you could use the staging site to show data based on the main site using the associated guide to do so.

Regarding not being able to complete set up, please share the following and we can provide further assistance on this:

    1. Your Site Health information (for your main site). You can use this form to share privately if preferred.
    2. When setting up the Site Kit dashboard from a Chrome browser incognito window on the main site, does the same occur? If so, please share any browser console errors that appear.
    3. Can you confirm that you only want Site Kit set up and reporting on your main site? If so, I would advise on only doing so from this site, and not from your staging site. Depending on how you’re pushing updates from staging to live, there may be considerations to note, as in some staging environments there are options to push plugin updates only, database updates only etc.

Let me know if you have any questions with the above. Thank you.

I have shared the information through that form for the main site.
The same problem occurs when I try setting up in incognito mode. I am unable to fetch the console errors as the page crashes and I am unable to inspect.
I want it to set up the plugin on the main site only, the staging site is just for testing.

Thanks for the update @vangupta, much appreciated. Considering the website crashes, lets see if the same occurs with an older version of the plugin. To do so, please follow the steps below:

    1. Download this older version of the plugin (1.141.0).
    2. Upload and activate on your live site (as a manual plugin upload install).
    3. Set up Site Kit. Please don’t select Google Analytics as an option during setup.
    4. After connection is complete, go ahead and connect the Google Analytics module.

Let me know if you have any questions with the above, and at any stage if your site crashes, let me know at what stage. I’ll keep an eye out for your response, thank you.

I tried uploading the older version but the issue is still there

Thanks for the update @vangupta, much appreciated. While we are investigating this further, it would be great if you can share the following:

    1. Does the same occur if you temporarily disable New Relic is active? You’ll find the steps from your Cloudways account here (screenshot)
    2. As it looks like you’re a Cloudflare user, does the same occur if you temporarily pause Cloudflare?

Let me know if you have any questions with the above. Thank you. We’ll also continue performing some checks on this and will keep you updated should we have any known fix or workaround.

I disabled New Relic for now and it worked but I dont know if that’s a permanent solution to it.

Thanks for the update @vangupta, glad to hear that worked for you. Our team have made New Relic aware of this bug, while we’re releasing a version of Site Kit later today that will ensure this no longer occurs. We’ll let you know as soon as this is ready. Thanks for raising this, which in turn resulted in us being able to find the cause while brining this to the attention of New Relic.

Just to let you know that we have a fix out for this with the latest version of Site Kit, released earlier this week. While the overall bug you raised isn’t specifically a Site Kit issue, this latest release will ensure such a conflict no longer occurs when using New Relic with Site Kit.

Let me know if you have any questions with this. Thank you.
