• I made all the settings in analytics and when I try to sign in from wordpress to google kit, it doesn’t work. When opening the plug-in on wordpress there is no log in pages or dashboard, I have waited 48h for activation but nothing, no error message displaying as well…

Thanks for reaching out @goldmotors. Hopefully with a little bit of troubleshooting we’ll be able to determine why you can’t activate the plugin. To start, please share the following:

    1. Your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred.
    2. Some further details on this (ie. whether you see the Site Kit dashboard but there’s no stats, is it a blank screen on the Site Kit dashboard, etc). If preferred, you can share a screen recording of your experience. You can use a service such as Loom or Zight to share a screen recording, while using the same form above to share this privately.
    3. If you are able to view the Site Kit dashboard, but there is a blank screen, please share any browser console errors that appear.

Once we have the above, we can troubleshooting this further. Please ask if you have any questions. Thank you!

Hello James, thx for the quick reply

I have shared site health info via the form, no blank screen when clicking on dashboard I arrive directly on the beginning page where you can connect your google account or reinitialize site kit…

Thanks for the additional information @goldmotors. From reviewing the details you kindly shared, I can indeed see the following:

    • site_status: connected-site
    • user_status: not authenticated
    • verification_status: not-verified

Given you’re being redirected back to the Site Kit set up screen, what I suspect is happening, is that the plugin has an invalid callback defined for your site, possibly from site details based on a previous connection if you did try Site Kit before. So we can determine more on this, and ensure you can complete set up, please share the following:

    1. Did you happen to set up or try to set up the plugin previously? If so do you recall any wp-admin URL changes, site migrations, or changes to your WordPress address?
    2. What is the URL you land back on when attempting setup? I ask as this may contain details of a no longer valid callback URL, based on a previous set up attempt.

I did also notice that your site is accessible of http (non-secure) as opposed to https (secure). Your site is defaulting to https for me, and your public REST endpoints do indicate a secure site so I suspect this isn’t the case. We can review this, or potentially reset Site Kit in order to check this, but do share the above first. Once I have the above, I’ll provide you with the most suitable checks.

No I’ve never tried to install this plug-in before last thursday, once i’ve clicked all the setup options I land back on WordPress dashboard-> Woocommerce tab -> Settings -> Payments (url below)

Thanks for the update @goldmotors. We did have a report of this same issue previously. To ensure you can complete set up, please follow the steps below:

    1. Login to your live site from a Chrome browser incognito window.
    2. Navigate to “Plugins > Health Check & Troubleshooting > Troubleshoot” (From the Site Health information response you shared, I can see you have this plugin active)
    3. From the same screen click on the “Available Plugins” tab at the top right and then click on the “Enable” option next to “Site Kit by Google“.
    4. Attempt to set up Site Kit once more.

The above will attempt to set up Site Kit with this as the only active plugin, thereby not using any WooCommerce related plugin, one of which I suspect is impacting your Site Kit experience.

Let me know how you get on with the above. I’ll be performing some checks with this also to try and determine any possible conflict.

    Hello James,

Yes these steps have done the job, site kit has been installed after. How to know which plug in conflicts with site kit ? Deactivating them one by one manually ?

Glad to hear it @goldmotors, and appreciate the quick update. I suspect a configuration with either PayPlug or WooCommerce PayPal Payments may be conflicting with Site Kit setup, but I will perform some checks. It may be a multi-party plugin conflict also.

How to know which plug in conflicts with site kit ? Deactivating them one by one manually ?

Should the issue occur one more, or should you wish to determine any particular plugin conflict, you can keep troubleshooting mode active, while enabling these plugins in troubleshooting mode (with Site Kit and WooCommerce active). With the above mentioned plugins active in troubleshooting mode, you can check does Site Kit set up complete successfully. At the point where you can complete set up, you’ll know which plugin you last activated.

I’ll be running some checks also, but do note that it may be a particular configuration that’s impacting your experience. With Site Kit active and working now as expected, the above checks are not essential, but may be useful to determine the cause for further Google services you may wish to connect within Site Kit, or for other users making use of the same plugins.

Just to let you know that I spent some time testing this and I can indeed confirm a conflict. I created a GitHub issue for the team to review, see below:
    https://github.com/google/site-kit-wp/issues/11946

Appreciate you sharing your insights into this. Hopefully a fix will arrive soon, whether that’s applicable on the Site Kit site I’m unsure, but we will continue to investigate.
