After installing Site Kit, I encounter the error message:
“The request to the authentication proxy failed with error: site not found. Get help.”
The provided documentation does not offer a solution to the issue.

    Steps to Reproduce

    1. Install the Site Kit plugin on a WordPress site.
    2. Attempt to complete the setup process.
    3. Observe the error message during the authentication process.

    Fixed it.

Go to Tools > Available Tools > Reset Sitekit.

Hi there @thijmendelucro, thanks for reaching out. The “site not found” error you’re facing indicates that your site was previously connected, and when trying to communicate to set up the plugin once more, it’s not recognizing your credentials. So we can determine more on this, and ensure you can get the plugin successfully connected, please share the following:

    1. Your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred.
    2. What is the URL of the page where you see this error? I ask as this may contain a no longer valid callback URL, based on your previous site. If so, you may be able to correct the URL to march your current setup in order to proceed.
    3. Did you at any stage change your wp-admin path or your WordPress files location directory? If so please share details.

Another option may be to modify your site URLs in order to proceed, adding or removing a www path. Alternatively, if we can determine incorrect records on the Site Kit service, we may be able to correct them. Once we have the information above we can troubleshoot further.

Let me know if you have any questions with the above.
