Thanks for reaching out @lewiswolk, and sharing details on the troubleshooting you already performed. The “site not found” error you’re facing indicates that your site may have been previously connected at some stage, and when trying to communicate to set up the plugin once more, it’s not recognizing your credentials. So we can determine more on this, and ensure you can get the plugin successfully connected, please share the following:

    1. Your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred.
    2. Did you try to reset Site Kit at any stage (Tools > Available Tools > Reset Site Kit)? I’m aware you already tried other troubleshoot steps, however, if you didn’t already try this, please go ahead and do so, before attempting to set up the plugin once more.
    3. As this only started to occur, did you make any changes to your site URL, the location of your WordPress files or your wp-admin path recently?

Let me know if you have any questions with the above. Thank you!

    Hi James,

I sent the requested data. I am baffled as this has never happened before and I only noticed it today when I switched your plugin from Jetpack stats.

It is indeed strange @lewiswolk, however, this is a message from the Site Kit service, used to connect your site to the various Google services, as opposed to directly from your site. I don’t suspect it’s related to JetPack stats, but we can perform some additional checks. While I did see some plugins active on your site that could potentially impact Site Kit behavior, have you already performed a plugin reset as suggested above? If not, please go ahead and do so (Tools > Available Tools > Reset Site Kit).

If the same occurs after a plugin reset, please attempt Site Kit set up from a Chrome browser incognito window, which sharing a recording of your experience so I can see at what stage the error appears during setup. You can use a service such as Loom to share a screen recording, while using the same form previously used to share this privately.

Glad to hear it @lewiswolk, appreciate the update. If you run into any further errors or if you have any Site Kit related queries, be sure to get in touch. If you have a moment free please also consider sharing your thoughts on the plugin given it sounds like you’ve been a Site Kit user for some time.
