• Recently I downloaded jetpack plugin for my wordpress website. but shockingly it was reducing the speed of my website so I deactivated it and deleted it completely (all the files it created).

Then I deactivated woocommerce from my website and realized that my website is using some features of woocommerce so I activated it again (Please note I didn’t delete woocommorce completely i.e. removing all the files it had). After that I updated woocommerce.

Now my website is malfunctioning. It is taking ages to load and it still missing stuff, Somethings are just not loading.

    check it out:

Can someone please help me sort this out.

And yes one more thing, when I tried to load it from WordPress, it seems to work fine then but when I check it another browser it does as mention above.

    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Hello jd1234,

Enabling debugging may provide more details clues into what is happening. Here is a guide:
    https://codex.ww.wp.xz.cn/Debugging_in_WordPress

You may want to try disabling the plugins to see if one of them is the cause. You can do this by renaming the “plugins” folder.

You could also test your site with the default theme (2016), if you are using a 3rd party theme.

If you are using caching, be sure to clear the cache.

Be sure to clear your browser cache too, if you are getting inconsistent results.

    I hope this helps,
    John-Paul

    Thanks Mate. Really appreciate it.

I have tried disabling the plugins, the page stil takes ages to load. All the other process may take ages to be completed. I was hoping for a short fix.

I was thinking maybe it is because of the woocommerce plugin update. If I go in the system status option (that comes with the plugin), it states there that they recommend php version 5.6. A copied text of the page is bellow:

    ‘Server Environment
    Server Info: Apache
PHP Version: 5.4.43 – We recommend a minimum PHP version of 5.6. See: How to update your PHP version
PHP Post Max Size: 64 MB
    PHP Time Limit: 30
    PHP Max Input Vars: 1000
    cURL Version: 7.24.0, OpenSSL/1.0.0
    SUHOSIN Installed: –
MySQL Version: 5.5.42 – We recommend a minimum MySQL version of 5.6. See: WordPress Requirements
    Max Upload Size: 64 MB
    Default Timezone is UTC:
    fsockopen/cURL: ……’

Maybe that could be the problem? if it is I cannot fix but request the host to update php to 5.6.

If you run your site through one of the testing utilities it will tell your what what the limiting factors are:

Thanks @bdbrown that was really helpful.

From the looks of it appears as though some of the content is being loaded from http://www.panteraenginnering.com which is taking the maximum amount of time.

I think my developer did that cause that his website.

What should I do? Can I shift the images (as complete location can be taken from the test result) to my host and access them from there. Hopefully it will increase the speed. I.E if I can access those images as his site is not loading.

    Any insight is welcomed .

I think my developer did that cause that his website

I’d start with the developer. Whatever he did it was for a reason and he would probably be the best resource for changing it. And yes, loading the images from your site should result in faster loading for those resources.

    Yes will confirm with him.

As his site isnt loading so most probably there is some problem with his hosting. So the images hosted on his site is making my site take ages to load and sometimes it just gives up and return blank spaces as it was unable to retrieve some data.

    Makes sense.

Will try and sort it out.

Thanks a bunch for the help.

    You’re welcome; glad to help.

Okay there is another problem that I just noticed.

5 of the images (and the text with them that was added separately) that are located on my server are not loading as well.

    0.7 KB image/png

other images from the same path are loading just fine.

the images above are just giving a blank white thing.

I checked my folder, the images are there and can be viewd, the path written in wordpress is correct but they are just not showing.

    Any idea why ?
