Site Not Re-sizing Correctly

I’ve noticed that depending on the computer and the browser zoom setting, the my sidebar shows up on the bottom of my WordPress homepage. I’ve played with several of the content/page settings, but nothing I’ve done makes the page appear (resize) correctly when the browsers view is zoomed. I’m using the twenty fourteen theme.

Furthermore, with the browsers zoom set at a 100% the sidebar shows up correctly on a notebook with with a 15″ display but not on one with 13″ display. In order to get it to display correctly on the 13″ you have to reduce the browsers zoom to 90%. I’ve tried it on IE and Chrome with the same results. I can go to many, many other websites on either computer and the site show up the same w/o having to adjust the zoom.

If anyone has a solution for this, please let me know. There are similar issues posted, but none of those proposed solutions solved this.
