Check both your Site Title and Tagline at Settings > General in your site’s Dashboard.
They don’t seem to show that tagline anywhere so I still don’t know where it’s appearing
<title>Engendered Conversations | West African Mum</title>
Based how your theme operates, “West African Mum” is your Tagline.
So, again, check both your Site Title and Tagline at Settings > General in your site’s Dashboard.
site title is the name of the blog and tag line is blank
So, Site Title is just “Engendered Conversations”?
yes, and yet it includes west african mum when it appears in the search bar or in preview form when a link to any page is posted anywhere
Are you using any SEO plugins?
yes yoast and smush (I think that’s an seo one)
Smush is for image optimization, not SEO.
Yoast SEO, however, is for SEO. 🙂
At SEO > Search Appearance in your site’s Dashboard, make sure “West African Mum” doesn’t appear anywhere, and you might as well check the rest of Yoast SEO’s settings too.
If there’s still nothing there, are you using any sort of caching plugin, or do you see a “Clear/Purge Cache” button in your Dashboard or admin bar? If so, would you please try clearing the cache?
Note: You do not need to install a caching plugin at this point just to clear a cache you don’t have. If you don’t have a caching plugin or a way to clear a server-level cache, just say so.
it was in the yoast settings! thanks so much for your help!!
