    Hello!

The sitemap endpoint redirects to the homepage. Another plugin must be invoking this.

If you have a 404-to-homepage redirect plugin active, please disable it. Those plugins have proven to hook into WordPress’s rewrite system incorrectly.

404 errors aren’t harmful; they’re helpful. Hiding 404 errors will also hide wrong links on and toward your site, so you cannot find and fix those broken links with the help of tools such as Google Search Console.

The redirect-to-home will also frustrate your visitors more than a 404 page: It’s better to let them know the page doesn’t exist than to give them a page they never asked for.
