I work for a modeling agency that has 1,000s of individual model pages (model profiles). These pages are similar to a product page on an eCommerce site. We recently updated the pages to include Javascript so that they run faster.

It was my understanding that Google would still be able to read and index these pages, however since the new website launch Google has indexed 4,000 less of our pages. It seems they are no longer indexing our model profiles.

We use the SEO Yoast plugin. Would adding sitemaps of the model profiles be a solution to this problem? The only other problem is that we do not publicly list all of our models on our website and therefore do not want all of models to appear in search.

Here’s our website link to the model pages: http://www.models4tradeshows.com/models

  • You have a lot going on for that site.

How google indexes your site has a lot to do with how you have Google Analytic’s set up on your site including factors like your .htaccess file and how your listing your robots.txt file for crawling the site.

That’s the first place I would look for issues.

As for site maps. Yoast xml site map submitted to Google is just one of many factors that Google looks at. If your not wanting specific models to appear then you will need to No Index those specific pages to ensure they are not included when Google Crawls the site. (If your NOT posting those pages live -“we do not publicly list all of our models on our website”) then you don’t have anything to worry about for those models.

    1. Re- check your XML Sitemap settings (Yoast SEO) and associated pages for Index or No Index as is appropriate

    2. Utilize Google Webmaster Tool “Ask Google to re-crawl your URLs”

Wait a few days and then log into/review your Google Analytics account and look for errors.

BTW we do a lot of work with clients using the Avada theme. PM me if you need an assist. My contact info is in my profile. Hope this helps.
