Sitemap Limitations

I created a sitemap page, and used the sitemap template for it. The page shows my categories, pages and “latest posts”.

Since it says “latest posts”, I’m assuming that it won’t show every post on my blog. So what is the limit? How many does it show? I can’t find any options to adjust this page. It seems to only do one thing.
