I am currently having an issue trying to access my sitemaps. I saw another thread where the user was having the exact same issue and despite it having said “resolved” on the thread they were never actually given a solution to their problem. I am using EasyWP WordPress hosting through Namecheap. Every time I try to access my sitemaps through domain.com/sitemap.xml I am redirecting to domain.com/sitemap_index.xml and my website is giving me a 404 error. I do not have multiple SEO plugins and I have not yet contacted EasyWP support about the issue.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @rokelle2012,

The “sitemap_index.xml” is created by Yoast SEO plugin. So please check if you’re using Yoast SEO instead of Slim SEO.

We (Slim SEO) only use “sitemap.xml” and don’t redirect it.

I was only using SlimSEO as I stated above. I can only assume that Slim SEO has a compatibility problem with EasyWP. I have uninstalled SlimSEO and am using another SEO plugin with no issues.

Please check your “.htaccess” if there’s any redirection rule. Also do you use any redirection plugin?
