    Hi there,

Recently, noticed our sitemap is timing out. Memory and timeout settings are set way above average but I think this may be due to very large amounts of metadata on our products. We have around 3000 active products, all with lots of content

I’m not sure if the sitemap is timing out while looping through the products, and if this would be the cause?

Even when the sitemap is set to 10 products, it still times out. I’m not sure if this could be the reason, and if there was a way to make the sitemap ignore the metadata for each product, and only look at titles?

We have both ‘Transient Cache Settings’ and ‘Output optimized sitemap’ enabled

    Thanks!

    Hello!

Most likely, yes. I’m afraid we cannot work around that. There must be another plugin trying to interact with the metadata system working incorrectly.

Please deactivate plugins in succession until the timeout stops; that will help you find the offending plugin.

If this doesn’t work out well, please deactivated the ‘optimized sitemap’ and default to the Core sitemap — that one is also generated by TSF but put in another jacket, with pagination support.
