We have a site set up where SiteOrigin is used for Pages, and Classic Editor is used for Posts.

It seems that having SiteOrigin enabled for posts (in WP-Admin > Settings > SiteOrigin > General > Post Types) whilst using Classic Editor causes the readability to return 0 text.

Disabling SO for Posts resolved it for me – is this something that will get resolved?

    Hi James

    Thanks for reaching out.

The starting/default position is Yoast can’t analyze Page Builder content. Page Builder has to actively integrate with Yoast and send content for analysis. I’ve taken a look now and can see the word count issue. I’ll log a report shortly, the fix will be provided in the next Page Builder update. It’s possible something has been changed in Yoast that has impacted the integration. We’ll know more once we’ve started the investigation.

If you’d like, you can use WP Rollback to rollback to Yoast version 14.8.1. Something changed in the 14.9 update that broke our content analysis integration. When the next version of Page Builder is released, you could then upgrade both plugins.

    Hi James

We’re having trouble reliably replicating the issue. We’ve seen it a few times but haven’t been able to consistently view a page with zero words. If you refresh the page in question while editing, is the word count zero every time?

    Hi Andrew,

Yes, I had tried refreshing the page several times (have tried again just now) and the count remains zero each time.

To confirm, the below appears when using the Classic Editor (with PageBuilder enabled for Posts post-type).

    SEO tab (SEO Analysis accordion):
“Text length: The text contains 0 words. This is far below the recommended minimum of 300 words. Add more content.”

    Readability tab:
“Not enough content: Please add some content to enable a good analysis.”

I’ve just noticed that if I switch from Classic Editor’s Visual Tab to Page Builder (and let it automatically copy content from editor to builder), the readability starts working.

By the way, I’m happy to provide access to the staging environment so you can look for yourself if you’re unable to consistently replicate on your side. If so, let me know where I should send logins to.

    Thanks for your feedback.

The issue has to do with the Page Builder, Yoast integration. When switching to the Visual tab, content is moved out of Page Builder into the Classic Editor. In that case, it’s just the regular Classic Editor and Yoast integrating so the result is expected.

If we could take a look, that would be awesome. You can reach us at [email protected]. Thanks again.
