SiteOrigin Page Builder
-
Hi – I’m using SiteOrigin Page Builder to build my company site which has been live for a couple of years. I’ve noticed just recently that the Text (Arbitrary text.) widget isn’t working. In some pages its says its a missing widget or if you add it as a widget into your page then when you go to edit it, it’s blank with no way to enter anything?
Any know issues or fixes please?
Ta,
Col

Hi Col
Is “Arbitrary text” the name of the widget? Widgets are added by the WordPress core, themes, and plugins. If a widget is missing, it often means that the theme or plugin that powered it has been deactivated and or deleted. If that’s the case, you’d need to try and figure out which plugin or theme powered the widget and reactivate.
Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.
You can see the Text widget here – its blank when you click to edit: https://oegen.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Capture4.png
And the Missing widgets here: https://oegen.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Capture3.png
the site has become uneditable.
Thanks. It appears there are two separate issues occurring. I don’t know what the cause is yet. There are many ways we can approach troubleshooting. If you can, please, try seeking out a working baseline. Temporarily deactivate all plugins not authored by SiteOrigin and switch to the Twenty Nineteen theme (or any default theme). In that state, does the issue resolve?
Cool – I’ll have a look and get back to you.
Thanks, please, let us know.
I’ve switched to Twenty Seventeen theme and deactivated alomost all the plugins but still getting the same results.
Thanks. It just takes one. What wasn’t deactivated as part of the test?
A single plugin can cause an issue. If possible, please, push on and deactivate everything that isn’t authored by SiteOrigin in conjunction with Twenty Seventeen. That’ll let us confidently rule out a plugin or theme conflict.
I’ve got WordPress onto it and I’ll let you know the outcomes.
Thanks for the update.
The issue here is/was related to the AMP plugin. It seems that SiteOrigin isn’t compatible with AMP plugin latest version.
Thanks for the update. The issue seems only seems to impact the Text widget. The Custom HTML, SiteOrigin Editor, and Black Studio TinyMCE (Visual Editor) widgets seem to be working normally with the AMP plugin activated. I’ll log an issue on GitHub shortly.
Thank you
Just to be aware the SiteOrigin Editor didn’t work with AMP activated for me.
