Slide generator problem

    Hello,
    I created a slideshow with the generator, to display my blog posts as a slider.
    I display the highlighted image of each of my articles. The landscape images are all the same size, the portrait images too. The size of each slide is supposed to adapt to my slide containing the most content. Each slide displays only the featured image of each article, and the landscape images are larger than the portrait ones. However, the size of my slider is based on my portrait images, not landscape, i.e. the smallest content of my slider.

    Why is this? Do you have a solution? The landscape images, which are supposed to be the largest, are displayed in a very small size compared to the portrait images.

    Hi @olympesimon!

    Our system doesn’t allows slides to have different heights, so with portrait/landscape images you can only address the content, to try to get the best result. For example instead of image layers, you could put down a Row:

    and delete its 2nd column, to only have one. Then you could turn on ‘Stretch’ to fill up the available space, or use the padding of the column, to set a height for your element. After that, use the background image of the Row:

    to have your image there. The image will cover the Row, and the outflowing parts will be cropped.

    Or at your image layer:

    you can add a ‘Height’ value in ‘px’. This way your landscape images could have the same height as your portrait images have. And the portrait images would have some empty space on the left and right sides.

    Hello,

    Thank you for your answer. The 3rd option seems to be the one adapted to my problem. Unfortunately, I followed your advice and looked at the documentation, but nothing changes. The size of my slideshow always adapts to the smallest content of my slides and not the opposite.

    Hi @olympesimon

    The current image sizes seem to be caused by two things:
    1. The set slider size is 500x400px at Slider Settings > Size:

    and the Limit Slide Width is enabled preventing the slide content from being wider than the given 500px width.
    2. The image layers have fix 90% width and height set at the Image layer > Content tab > Size:

    Are you trying to display the images in the biggest possible size?

    With your current setup you should disable the the Limit Slide Width option and change back the image width and height values to “auto”.

    Or, an alternative (and maybe simpler) solution would be instead of using the image as an image layer, you could set it as the background of the slide:

    It’s based on the “Slide background image fill” option: https://smartslider.helpscoutdocs.com/article/1809-slider-settings-slides
    how your images look like in the slider. By default the “fill” option is used which will make the image as big as it needs to be to cover the whole slider. This means that if the slider and image ratios differ, the image will be cropped.

    To avoid this behavior you could change the fill mode to “fit” or “blur fit” instead. This way the images could fill the whole slider and would be much bigger than they’re now.

    I use defilement commands in the form of bullets that display the titles of my articles.
    I would like the text size of these bullets to change according to the screen size.

    Hi @olympesimon!

    I’m sorry, but we don’t have an option like this. Currently the best you could do is to duplicate the slider, and display that duplicate for mobile view:

    (or as I see you are already doing this in Divi), and set different font size for your bullets within those different sliders.
