Slide show speed settings

I paid a programmer to build my site in WP. Each of my pages has a series of 5 images. I wanted them to be static so the one you selected would expand but he set them up as a slide show. That is OK but they transition too fast to be of value. I have read several of the posts about changing the timing but they mostly refer to plug ins or a gallery. I don’t see where I have a plugin or widget that controls this and can’t find a setting to change.
